Why is is necessary for some to bring down others?
I've been through my social media's A LOT lately, why? It's been very..... Interesting lately.
Every time i scroll my social media, either Twitter or Facebook, hell, even Instagram, I kept seeing this pattern. There's a always an element of what we call nowadays as 'roasting" one another. No idea what that means ? well then congratulations, you have not been corrupted by the millennial Satan "the internet" Though let me illuminate you on the meaning of this popular term us millennials use A LOT these days.
The urban dictionary defines the term "roasting" as : The act of verbally assaulting someone until you hurt their feelings, sometimes to the point of making them cry. In most cases it is associated to fags who think everyone likes them.
Yes..... very mature huh?
Back to the main topic, is it necessary ? I understand that social media is a place where we vent our hearts out and not to mention our freedom of speech (I am also currently doing the same thing) but I find it hard to digest such attitude. These people body shame others, discriminate others, and being prejudice to one another does not fix anything.
The harsh words, insults, they won't bring anyone good. It's saddening how we are. But we have to stay optimistic. Maybe 2017 will be a year of 'slow cooking" ? The act of verbally spreading love and positivity to someone up to a point of making them feel that life is worth living? (I made that up, yes I know....NOT funny) But, it's a new year and I have high expectations for this year.
Till next time,
Moonchild
